Celebrant

Officiant

Covid 19 challenged our ability to partake in our funeral rites and celebrations. If you have cremated remains in your home, this really is an opportunity to change some of our rites and rituals around culture, family, food, celebration, mourning. Life has changed. So has death and commemoration. The seasons for being outdoors are upon us. Pine Box Funerals provides celebrant services, and we have relationships to other celebrants in the local area.

Officiants/ Celebrants host/emcee tribute ceremonies, memorials, funerals or celebrations of life in a location that’s meaningful to you and your family. Remembrance services are therefore personalized for your preference and family need. They can be religious in nature for some and for others, religion is not a needed element.

As with many of our societal rites of passage, a formal timepiece is acknowledged before we move onto a celebration. (Think Graduation) Celebrants make sure this piece gets done for you, in a manner that holds reverent space for your family and the decedent.

Elements of a service can include nature, readings, music, keepsakes, eulogies, tributes. A Celebrant provides guidance and order to what often feels a little chaotic, for families. Celebrants also juggle last-minute changes as required and MC.

These are some of the commemoration events an end of life celebrant can help you prepare for:

  • Ceremonies

  • Memorial services

  • Funerals

  • Home funerals

  • Celebrations of life

  • Scattering ceremonies

  • Anniversary remembrance gathering
