James (Jim) Scott Bleackley

May 10, 1942 - April 06, 2026

Moosejaw - Edmonton

We will miss his smile, his readiness to help and his hugs. He was a keen learner, a great reader and enjoyed spending time with loved ones. In his life, he and Elaine raised their family in Kamloops with summers marked first by camping trips throughout BC and later going sailing down around the mainland. Winters were filled by hockey in all its forms, watching it on tv, going to Blazers games or being a hockey dad and all that that entailed.

When his children had children of their own, he enjoyed any and all time he could spend with them, particularly since they all lived out of town (Travis and Emery), out of province (Silas) or out of country (Caomh). During his twilight years when his memories became cloudy, he continued to enjoy those things that brought him joy: time with family, time with nature and, also, time for dessert.

Jim is survived by his wife Elaine, their children Deborah, Brenda (Kevin) and Derek (Laura) and their grandchildren Silas, Caomh, Travis and Emery. He is also survived by his sisters Joan and Gail as well as nephews and nieces.  Jim is predeceased by his sisters Susan and Doreen, his brother Bruce, and his parents Lila and James.

On April 9th, 2026, Jim was laid to rest under blue sky in Edmonton at Northern Lights Cemetery, in accordance with his wishes.
